I am Kapil Viren Ahuja who is a

~ Son to Narendera and Saroj
~ Brother to Aparna and Manisha (Neelu)
~ Husband to Preeti
~ Dad to Aabhya

My family defines most of who I am. But, I am not just that. I am also a Technical Evangelist at heart working in IT industry for last 10 years.

What I learned

Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute was my high-school and Hindu College in Delhi University is the college I attended. As I attended my college, I also joined NIIT, Rajouri Garden where I received training on computers and decided to make it my profession.

How I gained experience

I started off my career way back in 1994 when I was still in school. I used to work part-time with my dad helping him with accounts in his business. I never got paid for it; but i loved managing accounts whatever he allowed me to do.

In 1997, I started as voluntary intern for NIIT. I used to be a stand-up intern in the machine rooms (practical) helping students with their computer machine room exercises. While it was again a non-paying job, it allowed me the opportunity to rehearse my skills with students as I helped them solve their problems.

In 2000, I joined 3 of my friends – Rajatm, Deepak and Puneet where we a couple of projects as an independent team.

In July 2001, I joined eServe International as my first paying job. I worked in their Technology Datacenter for almost 2 years to join a small company for about a year.

In October 2004, I joined Sapient Corporation as an Associate. When I joined, I did not know that this relationship is going to grow over a 4 years. I learned a lot with Sapient and something that I hated to bring to end in 2008.

In July 2008, I started working with UnitedHealth Care. I joined their IT services in India and continue to be with them.

What I love to do

I have tried many things over the years, but two things that continue to be with me are – Tennis and Photography. These two keep coming back to me over the years. And I hope that I will be able to keep them at the core for time to come.

Blogging is another thing that is joining those two. I have never blogged consistently – it has been an on and off affair. But recently, I have been putting my thoughts to paper because I want to leave it as a legacy and another things that people can remember me for. I want my daughter to know her father, his life and his thoughts as he grew old. I want her to have a part of me with her when I am not there.
